Is
There Still Room For Summer
Sports ?
With start dates for
summer leagues quickly
approaching, sports are
filling fast. However,
if you act quickly, you
may still be able to jump
into a league with a full
team or just by yourself.
If you are interested
in a particular league,
check out the updated
situation on that sports
league page. There, you'll
see if the league is OPEN
for registration, not
available as a league
(NA) or Sold Out. If a
deadline has passed, you
can sometimes still sign
up for a sport pending
availability.
The biggest recommendation
to register is not to
wait. If you're not sure
of league availability,
don't hold off until you
know you'll have a space.
Instead, send in your
registration and include
any options (flexibility
is always rewarded).
We will not process any
payment unless you get
a space in a league confirmed.
If we don't have space
available, we'll contact
you and let you know of
any options. On the flip
side, we won't consider
any verbal requests to
sign up for any sport.
Now that you have all
the details, don't delay,
sign up today !!

The most common question
that we get at MSC is
after a person or a team
signs up for the first
time. The free-agent or
team captain then wonders
what happens next ?
Sometimes, it can be
days or even a couple
weeks after the registration
is received for a team
or player, but before
they get their initial
information on a particular
league.
If there is a problem
with the registration,
or possibly a different
option available, then
we contact the teams and
check to make sure if
they can accommodate any
changes. Also, if there
is no room available in
a particular league, then
we contact the team with
their options.
Generally, if you don't
hear something right away,
that is a good sign. It
usually means that your
registration has gone
through and your team
is confirmed. You will
also notice your payment
processed as well (credit
card run or check cashed).
If this happens, that
means your registration
is confirmed.
Then, teams and individuals
are contacted 3-5 days
before the league actually
begins. This can happen
by phone, e-mail or both.
In this initial contact,
we notify the teams and
free agents about their
first game info. We then
count on the team captains
to pass the info on to
their teammates. At the
first game, we hand out
season schedules to all
players, and post them
on the web shortly afterwards.
The schedules will have
all game times for the
regular-season games.
Once we get to the final
week(s) of playoffs and
consolation, captains
are contacted again with
necessary info.
With the internet becoming
an important component
of our communication process,
we also post general info
on our web site. On the
site, you can usually
find schedules, locations
and directions, weather-related
postponements, rules &
procedures, standings,
and so on.
If you still have questions
regarding your team or
league, feel free to e-mail
us from this site, or
leave a message on our
voicemail. We'll then
follow up accordingly.

Individual
Players Wanted
Don't have a team?
Are all your friends
or co-workers signed
up for volleyball, but
you want to play kickball?
Just move to the Milwaukee
area and don't know
enough people to play
football? Don't worry.
You have options and
can sign up on your
own for many of MSC's
sports leagues.
One of Milwaukee Social
Club's specialties is
to compile teams from
individual players, commonly
referred to as "Free-Agents".
All of our sports have
these "independent"
teams. In the possible
case that we may not have
enough individuals to
form a full team, then
we try and place these
players on existing teams
looking for extra help.
Either way, you end up
in a league 95% of the
time.
Within the details of
the particular league
sports, you'll see the
info on individual registration.
Just follow the directions
and sign up. It always
helps to include 2nd and
even 3rd choices for league
options. This includes
sports of choice, locations
and even days of play.
Once we get you assigned
to a team, we'll then
follow up with you with
more information on your
team and start dates.
These independent teams
are a great way to get
involved in MSC sports.
While it is difficult
to gauge what type of
talent-level these teams
will have, many of them
end up coming back as
full teams the next season.
Either way, they always
end up having lots of
fun, which is priority
one with Milwaukee Social
Club. Many of these teams
will even reach the playoffs
and some even win championships
within their first season
or two!! (See Animals
in Ultimate Frisbee, Pirating
Pelicans in Kickball,
or Raging Rhinos in Soccer).
Keep in mind, MSC actually
got started with a small,
six-team football league.
In actuality, three of
those teams were free
agent teams. If you look
over a current league
in any sport, chances
are that many of those
players got started or
at one time played as
a free agent.
